Overview
The Education and Outreach Committee of the Healthy Indoors
partnership (HIP) seeks to create healthier indoor environments
in Canada by educating both consumers and professionals about
priority issues, guidelines and best practices, and by engaging
them to take action in their own spheres of influence.
The proposed role, responsibilities and activities of the
Committee is to:
- Identify and prioritize issues where education and/or
outreach are key to the advancement of HIP’s National
Strategy;
- Help promote, coordinate, strengthen and/or consolidate
existing programs that provide the necessary education /
outreach in priority issue areas;
- Identify and help fill priority gaps in education /
outreach in key issue areas;
- Establish annual goals, objectives and priorities for the
Committee;
- Monitor and report progress of various activities to the
Board; and
- Identify, bring, attract and access funding.
Currently, the Committee is focused on two areas: organizing
and presenting HIP's webinars, and identifying cross-promotion opportunities.
The Chair of the
committee will ensure that the activities are focused on
committee priorities (as defined above), synergistic, and well
coordinated with each other.
From time to time sub-committees may be formed to address
issues related to the mandate of the Committee.
